The internal structure allowing plenty of light through. Specialised handler to gently tip the wire crates. A structural planter, again used to minimise damage to the delicate seed chits.

This type of planter uses a belt system rather than cups to protect the seed.

Liquid fertiliser applicator injecting into the seedbed, to minimise waste. Applying the polythene, a slow but effective aid for first early production Changing rolls, one roll makes four passes on this field.

This is the first area of potatoes planned by Mercian for delivery to Walkers Snack Foods at the beginning of July 2005.
